Pre-coated sheet price differ according to the material, let’s have a look at all the options.
When it comes to roof renovation, most people are stuck between steel and aluminium. Though, steel is always a better option than aluminium but both have their own set of advantages. Let’s have a look at both options.
Aluminium roofing:
  • Showcases superior corrosion resistance than its other expansive cousins like copper and zinc
  • Does not wither away with age that easily
  • They are formable in nature and much easier to be used at site and hence, easy to be installed
  • Extremely high strength-to-weight ratio
  • A thinner piece of aluminium is better than any other thicker material
  • Cost of these pre-coated metal sheets is way cheaper than other material like tin, copper, and zinc.
Steel Roofing:
Though this option is a bit expensive than aluminium roofing option but it has a longer shelf life. Usually, steel roof sheets are galvanized and come with a layer of zinc on it, which is why it runs as long as an aluminium sheet.
Here are some noted benefits of getting steel roofing:
  • It usually comes with colored finishing
  • Extremely lightweight
  • Show great resistance towards corrosion
  • Can be used in wide array of roofing options
  • Adjustable as per temperature
Besides the above two options, roofing can be done using zinc, tin, and copper as well but they are comparatively a much expensive option. Due to their corrosion resistance and long shelf life both aluminium and steel roofing sheets are preferred for renovation.
