A wide range of home appliances is manufactured using different types of steel. Stainless steel with chromium content is preferred because of its resistivity to corrosion. It is commonly used in making cutlery and utensils. It is also used in making nails and screws, television, sink, refrigerator, and various other appliances.

For places where precision is required, like in furniture and filing cabinets, cold-rolled sheets are used because they are ductile in nature. In addition, cold-rolled steel prices are very low, which makes it affordable and readily available.
